For Christmas specials, I'd have to choose "A Charlie Brown Christmas." It's 40 years old, but it's still as entertaining today as it ever was. They almost didn't air this special because, for one thing, they thought the message was too religious. But personally, I think it's refreshing to see the creators actually have the courage to articulate the actual reason that Christmas is celebrated at all: to celebrate the birth of Christ and his sacrificial death brought on by the unconditional love of humankind.
All that aside, my favorite Christmas MOVIE would have to be "A Christmas Story." It's just something that's always been around for me and that's always consistently entertaining.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

The Rankin-Bass puppet movie "Jack Frost." In kindergarten and first grade, we weren't allowed to check out library books, so during library time, the librarian would show us old videos connected to literature, such as ones based on fairy tales, and others that weren't remotely connected to literature, such as this one. As soon as Halloween was over, we would start watching Christmas ones, and she showed us this. I try to watch it every year, and now it's on youtube.

It's absolutely adorable. It was made by the same people that do the puppet Rudolph and Santa Claus movies.

Hands down, Dr. Seuss's "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." My holiday fesitivities are not complete without it. And I'm talking the original, no Jim Carrey. Fa-who forays ftw!
